Williams Racing announced the inclusion of American driver Lia Block in its lineup for the upcoming 2024 F1 Academy season. The 17-year-old brings a wealth of experience from diverse racing disciplines, such as rally, Extreme E, and rallycross. She began her motorsport journey in karting and rallying at the age of 11, and now, will gearsup for her first full season of open-wheel racing with Williams Racing and ART Grand Prix.

Despite her youth, the 17-year-old has already left an indelible mark on the motorsport world. In 2023, she clinched victory in the American Rally Association Open Two-Wheel Drive class, etching her name in history as the youngest ARA champion.
The Williams Racing Driver Academy is poised to support Block’s transition into the world of open-wheel racing. The team, based in Grove, will collaborate closely with the driver, offering access to a comprehensive range of resources to refine her skills and maximize her potential throughout the F1 Academy season.
Entering its second season in 2024, F1 Academy is set to feature drivers from every Formula 1 team. Spanning seven rounds, this exciting series will support F1 races across Europe, Asia, and North America.
