Colton Herta was fastest in the second practice session ahead of the Detroit Grand Prix on Sunday.
The session saw multiple drivers go off track and fireworks between Kyle Kirkwood and Santino Ferrucci.
In the opening laps if practice Scott Dixon went off track in Turn 1 and stalled his #9 Chip Gannassi Racing Honda.
A few laps later, Helio Castroneves, subbing for Tom Blomqvist Blomqvist, went off in his #66 Meyer Shank Racing Honda.
Sting Ray Robb, off in Turn 3, and Rinus Veekay, in Turn 8, were the next to drivers to miss their marks and need assistance from the safety team.
Arrow McLaren rookie Theo Pourchaire was fourth fastest in practice but made contact with the barrier in Turn 8 and brought out the Red Flag.
Ferrucci and Kirkwood came together and made slight contact into Turn 6. The two scuffled after practice in the pits with Ferrucci claiming Kirkwood turned into him.
Video replays seemed to show Ferrucci turn his #14 A.J. Foyt Racing Chevy into Kirkwood as the two approached the apex.
Herta, third fastest in the opening session yesterday turned in a 1:01.5726 to top the charts. Kirkwood was second fastest with a 1:01.7381.
Alex Palou, fastest yesterday and 2023 Detroit winner, rounded out the top three with a 1:01.8982.
Ferrucci, seventh fastest yesterday, ended the session in 20th position.
Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden was tenth on the time sheet.
Qualifying takes place at 11:15 AM local time.
