Logan Sargeant is one of the three drivers on the grid to yet score a point in the 2024 season.

It has been no secret the Williams team has been struggling this season compared to 2023 and it has not been easy for Sargeant this season as he did not have the same car spec to his teammate Albon until the recent few races.

Belgium was also a struggle for the American as he was unable to get out of Q1 after a wet weather qualifying and only placed his Williams 19th on the grid for the race.

The race was no easier for the Williams driver as he crossed the line P18 which was then promoted to P17 after the disqualification of the race leader George Russell.

The American talked about how the high temperature made things trickier for the team as no one expected a sunlit race after the heavy downpour the previous day. The lack of hard tyres was an issue as the hard tyres seemed to be the desirable one and Sargeant addressed how it could have been a better race with two sets of hard compound tyres instead of one.

“The car really came to life on that tyre. Just a shame we didn’t have two of them. Yeah, did my best in that middle stint to hold people up who were coming through on the hard tyre, which would ultimately help Alex [Albon] ahead. Nonetheless it was tricky.

“I think on the hard tyre it was pretty good. Clearly the tyre to be on today, at least for our car. The medium tyre kind of gave me flashbacks to last year. And, yeah, just not good enough”

The Belgian Grand Prix marks the last race before the summer break and when asked about the first half of the season, Sargeant admitted the high expectations at the start of the season deflated after the stagnant upgrades compared to other teams.

On the brighter side, the Williams team has been looking into bringing an upgrade package into Zandvoort, right after summer break.

“I mean, it hasn’t been easy. I think we came into the season with a lot higher expectations than what we’ve achieved.

“Obviously not bringing any updates to the car. Well, substantial updates to the car makes it tricky. People are moving forward and we’re not.

“I mean, we’d be lying if we said it wasn’t easy. But, yeah, just looking forward to a bit of a break. In the pipeline of upgrades, there’s one due for Zandvoort though.”

After the announcement of Carlos Sainz to Williams, it has been confirmed that Sargeant will no longer be continuing his journey with the Williams team.

With four seats remaining on the grid yet to be unconfirmed, Sargeant has to work extra hard to show the teams to stay on the grid for next year which currently seems unlikely as Sauber are having talks with renewing Bottas, RB will likely keep Ricciardo or bring in Lawson, Alpine have been hinting on signing their junior driver Doohan and Mercedes has been vocal about wanting Antonelli for the next season.
