Andretti has solidified its driver line-up for Season 11 by signing Nico Müller, who will partner with world champion Jake Dennis.
The Swiss driver, formerly with ABT, joins Andretti ahead of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s next season, marking his fifth season in the competition as the series advances into its GEN3 Evo era.
Müller’s move to Andretti follows Norman Nato’s departure from the team, and he will now pilot the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric. His arrival at the American squad had been anticipated for weeks, especially after he announced his exit from ABT prior to the London season finale in July.
During his two-season stint with the German team, Müller made a significant impact, securing six points finishes last season, including four consecutive points finishes in the final two rounds. This impressive performance saw him finish 48 points ahead of his teammate, 2016/17 champion Lucas di Grassi.
Reflecting on his new role, Müller said, “I’m very excited to join the Andretti Formula E team. It’s a team that has seen success from the very beginning of the Championship, particularly in the GEN3 era in their partnership with Porsche Motorsport.”
He added, “To work with Jake, a former World Champion, is an honour, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”
“I’m going to give it my very best to contribute to the team’s success and hopefully aim for some podiums and my first Formula E win – that’s the target. I can’t wait to get going.”
Michael Andretti, the CEO and Chairman of Andretti Global has commented on this signing by saying “We have high expectations for Season 11, and we’re confident that adding a driver of Nico’s caliber will help us get results.”
“His experience and success in Formula E, and numerous other highly respected racing series, will be key as we continue to increase the depth of our driver roster. We’re looking forward to seeing what Nico can do as we continue our pursuit of wins and World Championships.” he added.
On a similar note, the team’s principal Roger Griffith states they are “delighted to welcome Nico to the Andretti.”

Nico is a race winner in many disciplines of motorsport, and we look forward to him lining up alongside Jake Dennis at the opening race in Brazil.” concluded the team principal.
