Ahead of their first season in the IndyCar series, PREMA Racing has unveiled the livery they will use at a launch in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as confirming Romain Grosjean as a reserve.

Not surprisingly, it’s very similar to the one they use in Formula 2, Formula 3 and other categories.

The Italian-owned squad has made the decision to enter the North American series after lots of success in the lower European formulas over the last 15 years. The likes of Mick Schumacher, Oscar Piastri, Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc have won championships with them in F2.

Regarding their 2025 driver line-up, they have turned to familiar faces. Callum Ilott drove for the team in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

The Brit returns to the series after his time at Juncos Hollinger Racing. He had competed in the World Endurance Championship last year after a sour ending to his time at JHR.

Robert Shwartzman won the FIA F3 title with them in 2019. He ultimately fell short of making F1 but has raced in WEC. The 25-year-old will look to have a solid first season in the category and push his teammate hard.

After missing out on the Juncos Hollinger Racing seats to Conor Daly and Sting Ray Robb, 3-time polesitter and 6-time podium finisher Romain Grosjean stays around the IndyCar paddock as a reserve driver, showing the serious planning and attention to detail PREMA is giving to IndyCar.

Hand/wrist injuries have been quite common in recent years, as Alexander Rossi found out in Toronto last year. It led to Theo Pourchaire coming in.

Rene Rosin – Team Owner, PREMA Racing

“While we are proud to have joined a new world for us in INDYCAR, we are delighted to have shared our vision with many new people. Our history and heritage have defined what we are today and still define the goals we are looking to achieve.

“We were looking forward to communicating that and we hope everyone enjoyed getting to know more about us as much as we did so far in our first INDYCAR experience.”

Piers Phillips – PREMA Racing INDYCAR Team CEO

“Today marked a key step for us as we showcased what our group worked on and accomplished since the start of this new endeavour. We put together a state-of-the-art building and filled it with some of the best talent in business, and we are now ready to hit the track with our cars for the first time.

“We are hitting a turning point — we started from a clean sheet of paper, built ourselves, and we are about to go.”
