Sauber Motorsport announces the establishment of its Sauber Motorsport Technology Centre UK, as the transition to Audi F1 continues towards 2026.

Going into 2025, Kick Sauber has presented an all new driver line-up. With former Haas F1 driver Nico Hülkenberg and Formula 2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto the team plans to continue with them into the Audi era. During last years Qatar Grand Prix event it was announced that the Qatari Investment Authority acquired a significant minority stake in Sauber Holding AG, ahead of the Audi takeover.

Together with all other teams, Kick Sauber is set to unveil its brand new livery at the F1 75 Season Launch Event in the O2 Arena in London. Both drivers already had significant track time in last year’s car in the Abu Dhabi post-season tests and in Imola this year with the 2022 car.

Sauber introduces F1 technical centre ahead of Audi takeover

With the new technical centre, Kick Sauber aims to increase its presence in ‘Motorsport Valley’. The team also aims to establish a platform for collaboration with experts, while attracting local engineering talents for the Audi F1 project. This a key component in the project’s long-term plan.

Potential venues in ‘Motorsport Valley’ including Bicester, Silverstone, and Milton Keynes are currently being evaluated by the team. Ambitiously, the Swiss-based team would like to get the facility operational by summer this year.

“We are excited to establish our technical centre in the UK to complement our key site in Hinwil, which will continue to lead our main engineering operations and experience the largest team growth,” says COO and CTO Mattia Binotto.

“Expanding into the UK allows us to remain close to one of the world’s most dynamic motorsport ecosystems. Our vision is to create a strong, collaborative network across Hinwil and the UK, driving innovation and performance.”
