2025 F1 pre-season testing continued in Bahrain on day 2 as Carlos Sainz led the way for Williams Racing as his prepares for his first race with the Grove-based team. The Spaniard was a full second quicker than Albon’s 2024 qualifying time, and 0.6s faster than his own best time from last year. It suggests Williams Racing have made a good step forward in 2025. How much? Only time will tell in Australia.
Lewis Hamilton is looking at home in his Ferrari as he clocked the second fastest time, just over half a tenth ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc who ran in the afternoon/evening part.
It was very close at Mercedes as well with George Russell 0.006s faster than young Italian teammate and rookie Kimi Antonelli.
There was also encouragement for Jack Doohan who narrowly bested Pierre Gasly’s best time on Thursday in 2025 F1 testing at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain.
