The 2025 Jeddah F2 Sprint Race at the 2025 Saudi Arabian GP saw some shake-ups at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings with Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Dunne claiming the lead from Leonardo Fornaroli. After earning his first points in Sakhir, Dunne, who started the Sprint Race from P5 after qualifying P6 on Friday, crossed the line fourth after a strong race. However, he was promoted to P3 after Stewards handed MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor a five-second time penalty. Verschoor’s penalty for a Safety Car infringement saw him finish P4. Dunne, meanwhile, claimed his second podium of the 2025 season.

Dunne’s 6 points from the F2 Sprint Race at the Saudi Arabian GP saw him equal on points with Campos Racing’s Josep Maria “Pepe” Martí who finished P2. After a relatively disappointing 2024 rookie season, Martí’s 2025 season seems off to a promising start, with him taking points in all of the season’s four races.

Dunne claimed the lead of the championship battle from Invicta Racing’s Leonardo Fornaroli, who, after finishing the Jeddah Sprint Race P7, found himself just four points down on Dunne and Martí. He could, however, reclaim the lead on Sunday. After a strong qualifying, the Italian driver, who claimed the 2024 F3 Championship title, starts the race from P3, ahead of both Dunne and Martí. However, he could face stiff competition from Hitech TGR’s Luke Browning, who remained with 25 points after his P9 finish. Browning is set to start Sunday’s Feature Race from P4, alongside Fornaroli.
