According to the joint press release from both teams, “the alliance may evolve over time, beginning with a commercial and strategic focus, working together to grow their respective propositions.
“The teams, both powered by Team Chevy, will also consider this alliance as a talent development opportunity, with the potential for engineers, mechanics and drivers to build their experience.
“The strategic relationship will be mutually beneficial to extract the strengths of both teams and will be in effect for the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.”
It comes off the back of both teams making separate announcements on Monday.
David P. Morgan was confirmed as Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Team Manager from 2024 onwards. The experienced American has worked with legends like Al Unser and AJ Foyt over a long career in Motorsport to date.
Ricardo Juncos: “This was a serious deliberation that ended in David’s selection. It boiled down to his awareness and understanding of today’s working environment, along with his passion to take this team to the next level.”
David P. Morgan: “I can’t thank Ricardo and Brad [Hollinger] enough for their faith in me. I am humbled and chomping at the bit to get started on our off-season projects. Also, let me say a big thank you to my predecessor, Vince Kremer, for a job well done. Vince certainly left a solid foundation for me to build on.”
As for Arrow McLaren, they have given new title names to Gavin Ward and Tony Kanaan.
Ward has been handed the team principal title. The Canadian had been the Racing Director for the squad this year as he took on the senior role at the team following the departure of Taylor Kiel.
Acting as a special advisor this year alongside his final Indy500 and IndyCar start in May, racing legend Tony Kanaan is now the team’s Sporting Director.
Gavin Ward: “Last year at this time, the team went through significant changes and growth, and we had to move fast to recruit and stay ahead of preparation for the upcoming season. We’ve used the last several months as an opportunity to observe our ways of working—where we’re strong and where we need to be better. I’m excited for these changes. This team has great characters and a ton of talent, and this is all about leaning into people’s strengths and allowing the team to run fast and effectively.”
Tony Kanaan: “My role as special advisor was really an opportunity for me to test the waters of being on the other side of a team—as a leader and no longer a driver. I was able to observe how the team is run, make suggestions on where we can improve and help out with the commercial side of the team. I found out pretty quickly that this side isn’t too bad. I really like it actually and thought I have more to contribute in the day-to-day, outside of just race weekends. I’m looking forward to this new role where I willl be more engrained with the team, having unique experience to contribute and make Arrow McLaren even better.”
