In a day that marked the long-awaited return to the track after the summer break, both Williams drivers expressed their contentment with the initial outcomes. Alex Albon, who clinched an impressive fifth position in the first practice session, reflected on the day’s pace.
“It feels like a pretty good day obviously,” Albon stated, his voice resonating with the confidence that comes from a solid performance. His demeanor portrayed a touch of surprise at the team’s pace, yet he remained grounded, acknowledging the unpredictable dynamics of Formula 1.
“A little bit surprised by the pace. But at the same time, we don’t know how everyone else is doing. So we’ll keep it up,” the 27-year-old affirmed.
The initial practice sessions provided a mixed bag of results for Albon. He found satisfaction in the long run of FP1 but recognized room for improvement in FP2. “I think FP1 (the long run) was good, but FP2 was not great. So we just need to figure out and yeah, let’s see.”

For Logan Sargeant, the return to the Zandvoort circuit was met with excitement and a sense of accomplishment.
“First session back here in Zandvoort. Honestly, just fun to be back out there,” Sargeant shared with the genuine joy of stepping back into the paddock.

“I feel like we had the car set up in a good window, as we always do, starting the weekend,” the American driver expressed.

Acknowledging the physical toll of the high-speed demands of the Zandvoort track, Sargeant’s initial shock gradually transformed into confidence.
“A little bit of a shock to the body, but then it settled in and everything felt good,” he reassured. While the driver acknowledged the work that lies ahead, his optimism prevailed: “Still got our work cut out for the rest of the weekend but I am feeling a bit more than I did a couple of hours ago, so yeah. All good.”
As the first day of practice sessions came to a close, Williams showcased a rather surprising result that got us all curious about what’s more to come this weekend.
In the driver standings, Albon currently occupies P13 with 11 points, while Sargeant holds P19 without any points to his name.
