The team has joined forces with their sponsor KICK, an upcoming streaming site, that has accrued more than 14 million users in its first seven months of operation. The new livery design will be on show at the iconic race this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
The streaming giants and formula team will be making heads turn this weekend, with the partnership design featuring iconic neon green splashes and accents on this year’s C43 car. With KICK logos and branding strategically placed on the front wing, rear wing, sidepods, alongside some matching wheel rims, you won’t be able to miss it.
As Alfa Romeo prepares to hit the legendary Spa circuit this weekend, fans are eagerly awaiting the appearance of the updated C43s, piloted by team drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
Speaking about the collaboration, Akhil Sarin, Director of Acquisition at KICK, expressed his pride in inspiring the livery for the upcoming GP weekend.
“We could not be prouder of having KICK inspire the livery for the upcoming GP weekend at Spa.”
He emphasized the platform’s commitment to its content creators, stating, “At KICK, we put our Creators first by spotlighting the names of our ambassadors on the halo of our F1 car.
“The KICK-inspired livery is striking with stylish simplicity. We dedicate the KICK Streaming special livery to our community as they have in many ways and in their own ways contributed to the success of KICK. They are the entertainers of the next generation.”
The live-streaming platform that launched earlier this year challenges established streaming platforms by offering content creators a creator-first model, offering a remarkable 95-5 revenue split for follower subscriptions.
To celebrate its dedicated community, KICK has adorned the Alfa Romeo C43’s halo with the names of prominent streaming personalities from the platform.
Not limiting this excitement to the racetrack, KICK has gone a step further by making the KICK Streaming-liveried Alfa Romeo F1 Team Kick C43 available to all players of the new F1 23 game. Within August, fans will have the opportunity to download the special livery and experience the thrill of racing with the iconic KICK colours and C43 livery on their very own virtual track.
KICK solidified its dedication to the team by committing to the role of title partner for the Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports squad, set to compete in the prestigious F1 Esports Pro Championship later this year.
The Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK is eager to carry forward their recent positive momentum from the Hungarian Grand Prix as they head to Spa for the next race. During the previous weekend, Zhou and Bottas showcased their potential, qualifying fifth and seventh positions on the grid, respectively.
Currently, the team holds the ninth position in the Constructors’ Championship, trailing only two points behind both the Haas and Williams F1 teams.
The race presented challenges for Zhou, who experienced a setback due to a poor start that resulted in a collision with Daniel Ricciardo’s AlphaTauri at turn 1. This incident caused front wing damage and led to a five-second time penalty.
Disheartened by the circumstances, Zhou acknowledged that the race was practically over for him after the incident, denying him an opportunity to score points.
Zhou noted that this was “not what I wanted” and highlighted that “the race was pretty much over after the line for me.”
Similarly, Bottas faced difficulties during the race, finishing outside the top ten in 12th place. Despite a strong qualifying performance, Bottas lamented that their race was compromised from the beginning.
Reflecting on the weekend, Bottas remained optimistic about the potential that the team displayed. He noted that “We had a good chance to turn a strong qualifying into points but, unfortunately, our race got compromised on lap one.”
“The potential was there, and we will aim to build on that.”
Bottas also highlighted the challenges he faced during the race, noting that trailing behind Alex Albon’s Williams cost him valuable time.
He spent several laps of the race behind Albon, claiming that he “lost like half a second per lap” behind the Thai.
