The first day of running in the 2025 season has been completed as F1 pre-season testing got underway in Bahrain.

In the afternoon, all ten teams changed their drivers as every single driver was able to get laps in on Wednesday, with teams planning on full days with some drivers over Thursday and Friday.

Lando Norris (McLaren), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), George Russell (Mercedes), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Pierre Gasly (Alpine), Esteban Ocon (Haas), Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), Carlos Sainz (Williams), and Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber) slotted into their various machines.

A time of a 1:31.344 from Max Verstappen was the fastest time on the opening day of F1 pre-season testing in 2024, and that was comfortably beaten in 2025 as these cars in the final year of these regs continue to get quicker and quicker. Lando Norris beat it by over 0.9s, with the top 5 all going faster than it.

Almost all lap times were set on the C3 bar Oliver Bearman who ran consistently on the harder C2 compound in the Haas.
