Scuderia AlphaTauri were straight to the point in their highly anticipated season launch from New York fashion week. Their two minute cinematic, live streamed on YouTube, built tension before culminating with a final shot depicting Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries accompanied by the AT04 and new AlphaTauri clothing collection.

The AT04’s livery keeps to the now well recognisable AlphaTauri colours but with splashes of red from new sponsor Orlen. With the announcement late last month that Orlen would be joining the Italian outfit for the 2023 season, it was a near guarantee that this year’s livery would be seen sporting some red paint.

The season launch not only showcased this season’s competitor from the Red Bull sister team, also being newcomer Nyck de Vries’ first outing as an AlphaTauri driver. The former Formula E champion expressed his excitement and determination ahead of his debut as a full time Formula 1 driver.

“I think partly because my journey has been slightly unusual and longer, I’m even more grateful for the opportunity, more motivated to grab it and hungrier to show what I’m worth.”

“I’ve loved attending my first event as a Scuderia AlphaTauri driver. The opportunity to represent the brand at New York Fashion Week has been extremely special for me and really showed me what the brand is about.

“The livery looks great and you can see how the sleek A/W collection has inspired it, so I can’t wait to see it on track.”

De Vries’ more experienced teammate Yuki Tsunoda, now heading into his third season in Formula 1, has high hopes for the season, aiming high with his personal on track goals.

“My main goal is to perform more consistently in every race,” Tsunoda said. “Independently from the car’s performance, and to score points more reliably. I want this year to be my best performance of the three years in terms of getting to Q3 and scoring points.”

The young Japanese driver went on to echo his new teammate’s outlook, expressing his keen liking for the team’s new look.

“I’ve had a lot of fun this week in New York City,” He said. “And it’s also been great to attend the event here today, it’s such a cool backdrop for both the fashion collection and our new 2023 livery. The classic Scuderia AlphaTauri colours looks great next to the new clothes and I can’t wait to try both out this season.”

Team principal Franz Tost was happy to share the team’s launch with the ever growing US Formula 1 fanbase. New York fashion week couldn’t have been a more ideal location for the launch, which coincides with the US launch of the AlphaTauri fashion brand.

In the team’s press release, Tost said: “As we know, Formula 1 has seen a huge increase in popularity due to the likes of Netflix and social media over the last few years. So, it’s extremely important that we continue to grow in this market, which is why I’m pleased we were able to launch our 2023 livery here today in New York City to show our appreciation to the U.S. audience.

“Likewise, I think it’s great that AlphaTauri could display their new collection at the event, as this year is the first time they’ll sell their clothing here in America.”

All eyes at AlphaTauri will now be firmly set on Bahrain winter testing at the end of the month, as well as the competitive 23 race calendar ahead.
