Andretti currently compete in various categories throughout the world. They operate in IndyCar, Indy NXT, IMSA, Formula E and Extreme E. The most recent success for the team came in season 9 of the Formula E championship, with Jake Dennis winning the Drivers’ Championship back in July by 30 points.

In spite of having strong pace throughout the season and making a step compared to 2022, Andretti will be disappointed with their IndyCar campaign as Kyle Kirkwood’s two wins are all they can show for their efforts over the course of 2023 with a race to go. In NXT, Hunter McElrea and Louis Foster remain in the fight for the title, albeit with a long shot.

Andretti’s big goal outside of their current projects is to become the 11th team in Formula One. In February of 2022, Mario Andretti tweeted that Michael Andretti applied for a spot on the grid from 2024.

While FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is set to give his backing to Andretti’s entry, Formula One teams and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali have been roundly against it for quite some time now. Time will tell what happens in the political battle between the FIA and F1 over this.

Michael Andretti

“I’m proud of what Andretti Autosport has accomplished over the years, and all the memories that have come with so many special moments. Just as proud as I am of our past, I’m equally excited about our future. As we continue to expand and build a global racing institution, our goal is to be engrained in the culture of our fans, teams and partners. This rebrand is a major milestone in our team’s journey, but we are only getting started. We are determined to achieve success and confident that there are big things in store for Andretti Global.”

“The words Andretti and motorsports are synonymous, and I’m impressed and excited by the worldwide fanbase and reach of the Andretti name. I’m proud to be working with Michael and his team to build that name and legacy into an even stronger brand that reflects our ambitions and values. We are committed to excellence, and I believe our work will benefit our fans and partners around the globe.”
