It’s the second day of Arrow McLaren’s elaborate car launch, and today the papaya team has introduced car no. 6 to the public.
A new face will be behind the wheel of the challenger formerly manned by Felix Rosenqvist, as David Malukas has been appointed in the off season.
The former Dale Coyne Racing driver will start his third IndyCar season in March at St. Petersburg with McLaren, and it’ll be his debut in the top American championship with a Chevrolet engine.

Runner up in the 2021 IndyLights season, Malukas has scored two podiums in the past two years, both at World Wide Technology Raceway, showing a great deal of pace at other ovals as well.
Combining his strength on the particular type of courses with the impressive pace McLaren has always showcased on ovals with O’Ward, 2024 might actually be the year “Little Dave” scores his first win in IndyCar.

The young driver was positively impressed with his car: “It kind of gives a little bit of like a cyber-punkish type of vibe. It’s definitely something I could get along with and will be very proud to be driving around.”
Looking forward to his first actual racing with McLaren after a number of tests, Malukas added:
“Everybody at the Arrow McLaren team treats me like family and it’s just been incredible. We want to get performances; we want to be competitive and I’m very excited to do that and have the machinery and people to do so.”
“So, it’s going to be a lot of fun, looking for some championships, some rewards and just some good results at the end of the day,” he concluded.
