As the lights turn green for race one in Berlin, Mahindra driver Edoardo Mortara keeps a clean start, easing his way into turn 1.

Sérgio Sette Câmara goes in for early action attempting to get up the inside of Jean-Eric Vergne at the hairpin, to claim third. As Mortara goes into attack mode, he falls into fifth, giving 1-2 to DS Penske, both beginning to go for Stoffell Vandoorne.

In lap 5, Dan Ticktum goes in for the overtake and goes from tenth to ninth, while both Andretti drivers start slow, to conserve energy.

Meanwhile, Mortara drives his way back to P3, as Vergne goes into attack mode, moving him down to sixth. Vergne was stuck behind Wehrlein, who was also in attack mode. In the sixth lap, Vergne passes Wehrlein.

The Berlin E-Prix proved to be fast-paced as Vandoorne took the lead from Vergne after he was asked to use “maximum efficiency.”

With just 11 laps in, the yellow flag was brought out in turn 3 and turn 4, for Envision driver Joel Erikson. He has stopped on track, leading to a full course yellow.

During the full course yellow, both DS Penske drivers are still in the lead with Vergne on top. Antonio Felix Da Costa positioned himself in the top 5 as the safety car came in.

Nissan’s Oliver Rowland moved to P9 after reporting front wing damage.

Maximilian Günther made his move in turn 9, going into the inside of da Costa, and diving right into the top mix.

The yellow flag is out once again, as Da Costa spins into the back of the pack. He was taken out by the ERTs, specifically Dan Ticktum, as there was not enough room in the tight corner.

Rowland takes third – Porsche looks to be hurting themselves as Da Costa fights the Nissan driver. Oliver Rowland narrowly avoids clipping the wall as Da Costa leaves no space.

ABT Cupra’s comeback driver, Kelvin Van der Linde seemed to have a steady race until he reported front wing damage. His front wing was stuck under his car leading, rubbing the tyres and causing smoke. He headed into the pits.

Yellow flag. Günther makes contact with NEOM McLaren’s Jake Hughes and hits the wall – ending his day early, not the race he would have wanted in front of his home crowd.

With Mitch Evans in the lead, who still has yet to use four minutes of Attack Mode.

On Lap 34 of 40, racing got underway again, with Da Costa in the lead from fourth. Rowland, Vergne and Evans were close behind.

Jake Dennis was late to the party, driving brilliantly to fourth from P20. Jehan Daruvala also redeemed himself as he made it into the points after starting in last and receiving a 10-second penalty.

Dennis could not have been unluckier as he suffered a puncture after being pushed into the wall, trying to get inside one of the Porsches.

Using his second attack mode, Evans is back up in the lead, as six laps were added to the race

Just like Dennis, Daruvala was unlucky today, having been pushed off the track at the hairpin, damaging the front end of his Maserati MSG.

Vergne is back in the lead but there are bits of carbon fibre spread out at turn 9. Drivers had to avoid the outside line.

Vergne did not let Evans go without a fight. He has been overtaken by Rowland as he goes for the lead at the same time.

When things look gloomy for Nick Cassidy, he comes out of nowhere and joins the fight in second. Cassidy pulled the hairpin 1.5s faster than those behind him, leaving Vergne in his rear-view mirror. Cassidy made a great recovery and sat behind Wehrlein.

As Cassidy led the final laps, he left the drivers behind him to fight for the remaining podium positions. Rowland makes a move on Vergne but it wasn’t quite enough and he had to settle for third as Vergne holds second.

Although he started his race in ninth and falling to 21st, Cassidy pulled a brilliant drive, knowing exactly when to strike. He was able to keep a clean race and conserve his energy, winning with almost a 4-second gap.

Nick Cassidy is once again leading the drivers’championship with his second win of the season.
