There has been a huge announcement on this Thursday with the news that Callum Ilott and Juncos Hollinger Racing have agreed to separate.

Following a controversial touch between the two JHR drivers at the final race of the 2023 season, the future of Ilott at the team has been very much up in the air in spite of a multi-year deal he was on. The Brit received huge backlash online from Canapino fans.

That all came after the abuse he got post-Long Beach when he unfortunately came out in front of Canapino following a pit stop as he tried to stay on the lead lap, too.

In his time with the squad, the 24-year-old secured two P5 finishes as he upstaged bigger teams and drivers on multiple occasions. He also secured a front row start at Laguna Seca in 2022, backing it up this year in the final round at the same venue with one of those P5 finishes mentioned previously.

The multi-time Formula 2 race winner finished an impressive P16 in the championship in 2023.

Ilott took to social media following the official announcement with this statement:

“My time at Juncos Hollinger Racing has come to an end.

“I would like to thank all the incredibly hard-working individuals within JHR for their huge effort and support since I joined them for the final three races in 2021.

“I greatly appreciate the opportunity that I had to step into the world of IndyCar and be part of building something from the ground up.

“I wish them all the best for the future.

“As for my future, my eyes are fully fixed on 2024 and the journey that follows.”

Ricardo Juncos:

“While it is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to Callum Ilott, I would like to express my gratitude to Callum for all of his efforts during his time with our team, and we deeply appreciate his contributions.

“We wish him the very best in his future endeavors. Callum has shown immense talent, and we have no doubt that he will continue to make his mark in the world of motorsport.”

Brad Hollinger:

“While we bid farewell to Callum as a driver for Juncos Hollinger Racing, we wish him every success in his next chapter. We have no doubt that his talent and determination will continue to shine.”
