There’s been a big change made by Scuderia Ferrari ahead of next weekend’s race trip to Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as Xavier Marcos Padros has left his role as Charles Leclerc’s race engineer.
In a statement on Twitter, the Italian team confirmed that “Xavi Marcos will bring his valuable experience gained as a race engineer with the Formula 1 team to the development of other important company programmes”. Where the Spanish engineer has not been confirmed by the team as of yet.
Marcos had been working with Charles Leclerc since the Monégasque driver moved to Ferrari in 2019 to replace Kimi Räikkönen. During their 5 years together, the 26-year-old won 5 races, bagged 23 poles and appeared on the rostrum 33 times.
In a separate statement, the team said, “Scuderia Ferrari HP announces that Bryan Bozzi, who has worked in the team for ten years, currently as Performance Engineer to Charles Leclerc, will now take on the role of his Race Engineer as from next weekend’s Gran Premio del Made in Italy and dell’Emilia-Romagna at Imola”.
As well as his role as performance engineer for Charles Leclerc over the last 5 years, Bryan Bozzi has been an Aero Track Group Engineer and a Wind Tunnel R&D engineer since he started working with the team in 2012.
