After an impressive third-place finish in the 2024 Eurocup-3 season, Bruno del Pino—nephew of former F1 driver Pedro de la Rosa—will step up to the FIA Formula 3 championship for the 2025 season. The Spanish driver will form part of MP Motorsport’s 2025 F3 driver line-up and will partner with Red Bull junior driver Tim Tramnitz, who continues in the series after a ninth-place finish in 2024, and Williams junior Alessandro Giusti who joins the team after a fourth-place finish in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship.

“Quite good atmosphere” at MP Motorsport

As he enters his third year with the Dutch team, del Pino thinks highly of the team with which he will compete for the 2025 F3 championship. While speaking to the media, including Pit Debrief, he described the atmosphere at MP Motorsport as “quite good”. He stated that he enjoyed being with the team, though joked that it was “basically impossible” for him to learn Dutch.

“Yeah, for me, I’ve been with them for three years now. This is my third year.”

“And obviously, not everyone is Dutch. There’s a few Spanish people which is good for me, as I’m Spanish. But yeah, obviously the atmosphere there is quite good. And obviously, the team is based nearby [to] Rotterdam so there’s obviously some Dutch atmosphere all around.”

“But yeah, obviously I quite enjoy being with the team. And I’m trying to learn a bit of Dutch, which is basically impossible.”

Del Pino aiming for success despite expected challenges of transition to F3

Despite being with MP Motorsport for three years, del Pino does not believe that his familiarity with the Dutch team will ease his transition into F3. Instead, he anticipates a challenging 2025 F3 season due to his inexperience in the championship.

“So yeah, obviously, I’ve been with them for the last few years in Eurocup 3. And yeah, I think coming in, that’s my first year in F3 and being able to start with MP. Obviously, it’s quite still challenging. It’s a new championship.”

He added that while he is familiar with the team, he will work with a new staff. Despite this, he believes that the goal of achieving success remains the same and looks forward to a new challenge.

“But obviously, I’m quite familiar with the team. I know more or less all of the people I’m working around. And yeah, obviously, it’s a new staff. As in Eurocup 3, it was different. But obviously, the ambience is quite similar, the atmosphere.”

“And the work, how we work towards achieving the goal is quite similar in MP. So yeah, obviously, quite happy to start with them again in the new season. And looking forward to it.”

Del Pino “to try [his] best” amidst fierce competition from 2025 F3 rivals

While del Pino’s goal is to succeed in F3, he acknowledges that he will face fierce competition in 2025, both from experienced drivers such as his teammate Tramnitz, and rookie drivers stepping up from Eurocup-3 and the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA).

“Yeah. So obviously, joining a new championship, obviously, there’s a lot of not rookies that have already been more than one year. And obviously, there’s a few drivers from [the] top three.”

While the Spaniard admits that he is not familiar with most of the FRECA drivers, having not recently raced against them, he is excited to compete against his former Eurocup-3 rivals as he knows “how to fight with them.”

“I don’t know a lot of the FRECA drivers, since I haven’t driven with them for a long time. But yeah, [those from] Eurocup-3, it’s good to drive this new championship with them, as I know them more or less. I know how to fight with them. I know how to manage certain situations when I’m fighting against them.”

Regardless of his history with them, del Pino hopes to learn from his rivals, and especially to try to beat them in competition.

“So yeah, it’s obviously a good point. And obviously, there’s many more drivers who I haven’t raced before, or have raced but not so long ago, that I need to learn from, I need to try to beat.”

He concluded that he is looking forward to trying his best as he faces his new challenge.

“So yeah, obviously, it’s a new challenge for me. I’m looking forward to starting and trying my best.”
