Doriane Pin is “aiming for the title” after Race 2 win in Shanghai

Doriane Pin had an excellent start to the 2025 F1 Academy season in Shanghai, showcasing why she’s on the grid and the levels she is prepared to go to win the championship.

“It’s an amazing feeling, really happy to win today,” she beamed in a post-race interview.

A stellar Race 2 ensured a guaranteed position on the podium, her persistence and effortless control of the car leaving fans in awe as she charged towards the finish line, taking the lead from turn one as soon as the lights went out.

Confidence grows as the season starts

“It’s positive for the race season ahead, I am obviously aiming for the title this year,

“I only have this goal in mind, I will keep working as much as possible with my team to reach this achieve it at the of the year.” Pin said.

Becoming the vice champion in 2024, Pin has the motivation to clinch the title this season, the opening round a tribute to the efforts put in over the off season.

China’s Shanghai has set Pin up for more hunger, her performance over the weekend stable as she now leads the championship by 5 points ahead of Maya Weug.

Championship winnings in sight

Qualifying for the French go-getter was there or there about’s, coming in 0.497 seconds behind Weug in the fight for pole.

Race 1 saw Pin just outside the podium’s reach, with her fellow drivers attacking the track with the same hunger and eagerness to succeed.

Doriane Pin has always been a strong performer on the racetrack, therefore her F1 Academy résumé only provides further confirmation.

Overall, Shanghai enhanced the chances for the 21-year-old to reclaim redemption with the Championship should she continue on an upwards trajectory.

The next race is at Jeddah’s Corniche Circuit in mid April, a track known for its tightness and lack of room for errors.
