Lando Norris led the way in FP2 as McLaren continued their strong recent form.
On the mediums and hards used early in the session, Charles Leclerc led the way from teammate Carlos Sainz by almost 0.3s, with Alex Albon impressing in P3 as Williams continued to show very strong speed.
The Thai driver took over at the top briefly as he was the first of the drivers to do a lap on the soft compound tyre, clocking a 1:31.650. George Russell beat that by over a tenth.
The big lap came from Lando Norris moments later, however. A 1:30.727 was enough for the title contender to end up fastest. Charles Leclerc was the only driver who could get close, finishing 0.058s away.
Carlos Sainz was P3, over 0.6s away from the benchmark set by his former teammate. Tsunoda, Piastri and Ricciardo completed the top 6 as RB had a very strong Friday in Singapore.
Russell, Pérez, Albon and Hülkenberg rounded out the top 10.
It was a terrible FP2 for Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Both drivers complained about a lack of grip, and the lap times reflected it.
The seven-time World Champion managed to move into P11 with his soft tyre run, as Verstappen could only end up P15, almost 1.3s off his title rival’s time.
Hamilton, Alonso, Magnussen, Stroll, Verstappen, Colapinto, Ocon, Gasly, Zhou and Bottas was the full order in the second half of the timesheets. The Chinese driver is on the same spec as his teammate this weekend and did a good lap to be over 0.4s quicker.
At the end of the session, George Russell crashed at turn 8, causing double waved yellow flags. The 2-time Grand Prix winner broke his front wing in the process.
On the long runs, McLaren and Ferrari looked to have a solid margin over the rest of the field.
