It is time to set the grid in Spa as the penultimate round of Formula 2 is here in the Belgian Grand Prix. This will be key for the extremely tight championship battle with Isack Hadjar, Paul Aron, Gabriel Bortoleto and Zane Maloney.

With none of the driver having the opportunity to set a push lap, the yellow flag waved due to an incident with Victor Martins as he went off into the gravel which quickly turned into a red flag as the gravel covered the track at the exit of turn 13.

The session will be resumed 16.12 local time.

Once the track was cleared, the green flag was waved with 24 minutes on the clock and all the drivers rushed out to get a proper flying lap.

The Championship leader, Hadjar took the top of the timesheet with 1.57.803 setting the benchmark with Aron and Bortoleto separated with a tenth of a second. Antonelli, Maloney, Crawford, O’Sullivan, Fittipaldi, Maini and Bearman rounded up the top 10 on their first push lap.

Race control issued notice for investigation after the session for Antonelli, Manlony and Hadjar, Miyata for impeding.

Hauger, Colapinto and Maini completed a second push lap and improved to P8, P6 and P5 in the timesheet.

With 10 minutes left, the drivers left the pit lane for the final push for the qualifying as Aron took provisional pole and Bortoleto completing the front row and Hadjar taking P3.

As the qualifying session was coming to an end, drivers rushed to the starting line to start a final flying lap clocked at the same the yellow flag was waved in sector one, only Zak O’Sullivan improved into tenth taking the reverse grid pole.

Aron takes pole position in Belgium with Bortoleto by his side and Hadjar settling for third. Crawford, Antonelli, Maloney, Colapinto, Verschoor, Hauger and O’Sullivan rounds up the top 10 for the qualifying session.
