F2 Feature | Italian GP | Bortoleto wins in Monza after starting 22nd

Maloney starts the feature race in Monza from pole position, with Hadjar, Aron, and Hauger lining up behind him respectively.  

The lights go out and Maloney holds his lead off the line, Aron getting the jump on Hadjar, before challenging Maloney, ultimately contacting Martí, and Hauger, Aron spinning off, his race over. 

Hauger sustains a puncture and needs to pit. Hadjar sitting back in P5. 

Both Prema cars go side by side with Bearman coming out in front of Antonelli to place them in P2 and P3 respectively, as the safety car joins the track. 

The safety car returns to the pitlane at the end of lap 2, Maloney getting a great jump through the exit of Parabolica. 

Hadjar fights Dürksen down to turn 1, as Bearman does the same on Maloney. 

Crawford moves up to 6th past Cordeel on the run-up into turn 1. Bortoleto goes wheel to wheel with Verschoor into turn 4, unable to move up on him. 

Martins moves up on Cordeel, leading him into turn 2, unable to regain position. 

Martí is handed a 10-second penalty for the collision he caused with Aron off the race start. 

Dürksen lunges on Antonelli and moves up into 3rd. Bearman is told to pit at the earliest opportunity. 

Martí locks up after going too deep into turn 1 and dropping to 10th

Maloney and Antonelli are called into the pits, leaving Dürksen, Crawford, and Hadjar to pit as well. 

Antonelli goes into the gravel through Ascari but holds position.

Hauger causes a yellow flag in sector 1 after being tapped by Miyata, spinning and parking up facing the wrong direction in the chicane, the safety car soon being deployed. Hauger’s race over. 

Bortoleto now has the opportunity to pit under a safety car, benefiting him on his drive from last to first. Bortoleto comes out in front. 

The safety car returns to the pitlane at the completion of lap 10. 

Bortoleto already moves up into 5th on track before turn 1. 

Bearman, Maloney, and Dürksen fight through the second chicane, Bearman pushed wide but regaining position, before Antonelli slides past Dürksen to take 9th place. 

Dürksen takes back 9th with Antonelli unable to get the position back. 

Bortoleto is up to 4th and attempting to move up on Correa into 3rd, unable to make the move stick. 

Maini moves up and takes 1st from Goethe, as Bortoleto moves up to Correa and sitting in 3rd. Dürksen continues straight on through turn 1, while Bearman shows evidence of damage to his car. 

Bortoleto dives up the inside of Goethe through Parabolica, continuing his fight for 2nd down the straight with Goethe, leaving his teammate Maini ahead. 

Bearman fights Correa through turn 4, running wide and unable to take 6th from Correa. 

Bortoleto makes his move on Maini into turn 4 to take the on-track 1st position. 

Bearman is right in Martin’s tail into turn 1, after making contact with each other into turn 1 on the previous lap, miraculously not sustaining damage. 

Fittipaldi moves up on O’Sullivan to take 15th place. Correa pits to retire his car. 

Antonelli attempts an attack on Bearman, unable to move up on him. 

Maloney tries to move up on Goethe, being pushed wide and giving the position back to Goethe. Maloney finally making the move stick shortly after. 

The Prema’s of Bearman and Antonelli, respectively, continue to close in on Martins ahead. 

Miyata is handed a 5-second penalty. 

Antonelli looks to lunge down the inside of his teammate on the run-down to turn 1, before Bearman closes the door on him. 

Cordeel reports a puncture so will trail back to the pits. 

Maini and Goethe, who are running 2nd and 4th, respectively, still need to make their required pit stop.

Verschoor makes his move on Goethe into turn 1, as the Prema’s behind him go side by side through the first chicane, Bearman shuffled into the gravel and drops back to 9th.

Goethe finally peels off into the pitlane for his mandatory stop. 

Dürksen has to take the run off through the 2nd chicane, allowing Antonelli to gain a position on him, almost allowing Bearman through as well. 

Antonelli is on the tail of Martins, lining up a successful move down towards turn 1, taking 5th place. 

Dürksen looks to line up a move onto Martins, who he is chasing into Parabolica, unable to make a move. 

Dürksen makes his move on Martins into turn 1 of lap 28, moving up to 6th place. 

Maini is called in for his mandatory pit stop at the end of lap 28. 

As the final lap begins, Bortoleto, Maloney, and Verschoor are sitting in the podium positions respectively. 

After starting from last place, Bortoleto has had an incredible drive up to 1st place and wins the F2 feature race in Italy, almost 10s ahead of Maloney!
