In 2024, Arvid Lindblad made his FIA Formula 3 debut with Campos Racing. Despite it being only his rookie season, the British driver managed a series of impressive performances throughout the season. He ended the season an impressive 4th in the championship with 113 points.

A strong start to the season

Lindblad enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring points in the first three rounds of the 2024 FIA F3 season in Melbourne, Sakhir, and Imola respectively. Impressively, he took his maiden F3 win in the Sakhir sprint race. He also finished a respectable 8th in the feature race. The British driver started these races from 2nd and 9th respectively. Weeks later, in Melbourne, he placed 2nd in the sprint race, and 11th in the sprint race, after starting from 3rd and 8threspectively.

Unfortunately, Lindblad would not return to the podium in Imola. He had a slightly worse weekend in Imola where he finished the sprint race and feature race in 8th and 7th respectively.

More points in Monaco, Spain and Austria

The following three rounds in Monaco, Spain and Austria brought a mix of successful and unfortunate races for the British driver. In Monte Carlo, he retired from the sprint race after a collision. However, he redeemed himself in the feature race with a 4th place finish.

In 2024 Barcelona F3 round, Lindblad managed a top ten finish in the sprint race, finishing in 9th before redeeming himself once again in the feature race, taking home the win. This was his first feature race victory for the season.

In Austria, the British driver unfortunately suffered another sprint race DNF. He finished a disappointing 7th in the feature race, after starting on the front row in 2nd.

Double victories in Silverstone precede a disappointing end to the season

The final four rounds of the 2024 F3 season were held in Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Budapest and Monza, with Lindblad’s home race being in Silverstone.

In his home race weekend, Lindblad took victories in both the sprint race and the feature race, after starting both races in 11th. This was an impressive weekend in the wet for the home-grown driver.

Round 8 in Spa-Francorchamps brought the challenges of the legendary Belgian track. This saw Lindblad fighting his way up to 15th in the sprint race, after starting 27th. Unfortunately for the Brit, his luck didn’t continue into the feature race, with a DNF imminent.

Unfortunately, Budapest was another difficult weekend for the Brit. Lindblad was only able to secure a P15 in the sprint race while DNFing in the feature race.

In the final round of his maiden F3 season, the grid raced in Monza. Sadly, Lindblad managed only midfield finishes in both the sprint and feature races. He secured 12th and 16th respectively.

An impressive maiden campaign

After the conclusion of the 2024 season, Lindblad had secured some stellar stats, worthy of a promotion to Formula 2. Over the course of the season, the Brit racked up two sprint race wins, and two feature race wins, as well as 11 top ten finishes across the 20 races.

Overall, Lindblad enjoyed a rather impressive maiden season in FIA Formula 3. He is expected to continue to his exciting performances in F2.
