Dino Beganovic remained with PREMA racing for his 2024 F3 campaign, determined to show himself as a title contender after a year in the series. In his rookie F3 season with PREMA, a victory in the series had evaded him. Although he collected a decent share of podiums in 2023, it was clear his goal in 2024 was to find his way to the top step.

Point-less start

The first three races of the 2024 F3 season were difficult for Beganovic. Despite having a fast car underneath him in the PREMA. Despite taking the pole for the first round he suffered a collision at the start suffering a puncture that sent him to the back of the field.

The feature race went just as badly for the Swede, suffering a technical issue which put him in last place. He recovered to 13th but it was far from an ideal start.

Melbourne was his chance at redemption and to get points on the board. He qualified in third meaning for the sprint race he would find himself in tenth.

When the sprint race came around himself in 13th and outside of the points for the third time in a row. However, starting in third for the feature race, Beganovic had the opportunity to take a healthy haul of points.

The Melbourne feature race saw Beganovic charge to the lead of the pack, taking his maiden victory in Formula 3 and putting himself on the board points-wise.

A string of consistency

Melbourne seemed to mark a shift in Beganovic’s performance, going through the next six races with near podium and strong points finishes. In Imola, the Swede took a fourth and fifth-place finish.

Monaco continued the string of performances, with a seventh and sixth-place finish. Claiming the fastest lap point in the sprint race. Barcelona was another double-point finish with two eighth places.

The next few rounds were up and down. At Spielberg, the Swede suffered a poor sprint race only finding himself capable of 15th. However, he managed to bring it back in the feature race taking third place and marking a return to the podium.

After Spielberg, Beganovic moved into fourth in the championship with just 26 points between him and first place.

Silverstone was a difficult weekend for the PREMA driver coming away once again with nothing to show. However, it was his last weekend in the season without points.

A final push

Beganovic came to Hungary looking to redeem himself after the struggles in England. He hit the ground running with a podium in the sprint race and managed to continue the momentum to take a points finish in the feature race.

Once again coming into Spa the Swede built on the results of the previous race weekend, taking his second win of the season. The win moved the Swedish driver back into the top five in the standing and with the season so competitive a possible title was still a possibility.

The feature race was more difficult falling out of the points, but it wasn’t over for Beganovic. In the final round at Monza he took a fourth place and a ninth place respectively.

He finished the season in sixth and went to Formula 2 for the final rounds of that series. With DAMS Lucas oil he immediately showed the same pace he had in F3, taking a podium in his second ever F2 race.

He secured himself a 2025 F2 seat with Hitech, where he will be setting his sights on a title fight.
