Renowned Swiss racing outfit Fach Auto Tech has confirmed its entry into the 2026 International GT Open, marking another milestone in the team’s long-standing involvement in international GT racing. The team will field two Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO cars as it prepares to tackle the championship for the first time.
The announcement came through a brief but confident statement on social media, signalling the team’s ambition to embrace a fresh competitive challenge.
“A new challenge. A clear goal. We are happy to announce that we will line up in the 2026 GT Open with two Porsche 992.2 GT3 R EVO.”
Founded in 1994 by Alexander Fach and based in Sattel in the Canton of Schwyz, the team has built an impressive reputation across multiple GT championships and Porsche one-make series over the past three decades. Its arrival in the GT Open adds another experienced and technically proficient team to the championship grid.
Strong legacy in Porsche Racing
Fach Auto Tech stands among the most recognisable Porsche-focused teams in European motorsport. Over the years, the team has competed in numerous Porsche Cup championships and international GT categories, earning a reputation for consistency, technical expertise and driver development.
The squad has frequently played a prominent role in Porsche Carrera Cup competitions across several countries, as well as in elite GT racing environments. Its long-standing partnership with the German manufacturer makes the move to campaign the latest Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO in the GT Open a natural step.
For its debut season, the team will field two cars in separate classes: one entry in the Pro-Am category and another in the Am class.
Fach Auto Tech announces Pro-Am Line-up for Car #11 for 2026 International GT Open with Monegro solo in Car #12
Fach Auto Tech has confirmed that car number 11 will compete in the Pro-Am category with a driver pairing combining youth and experience.
Swiss driver Alexander Fach Jr., aged 23, will take the wheel alongside German-Mexican racer Alexander Schwarzer. Fach Jr. has already gained experience in several high-level GT championships, including the GT World Challenge Europe, ADAC GT competitions and the Porsche Supercup.
Schwarzer, aged 36, brings extensive experience in Porsche one-make championships. Throughout his career, he has competed in Porsche competitions in Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland, as well as in the international Porsche Supercup series.
The two drivers already share an established partnership. Last season they competed together in ADAC GT Masters, where they secured a race victory, demonstrating their competitiveness in GT3 machinery.
Car #12 will run in the Am class and will be driven by Joel Monegro from the Dominican Republic. The 33-year-old driver will undertake the majority of the season as a solo entrant.
Monegro has recently competed in racing programmes in the Middle East, building experience in endurance and GT-style competition. His participation represents another step forward in his international racing career.
While he will compete alone during most GT Open events, the series’ endurance-format GT Open 500 races require additional drivers. For those rounds, Fach Auto Tech will designate a teammate to join Monegro, with the announcement expected later in the season.
A promising debut season ahead
Fach Auto Tech’s arrival brings a well-established Porsche specialist to the International GT Open paddock. With two entries across different classes and a mix of emerging and experienced drivers, the Swiss team will aim to make a strong impression during its debut campaign.
The addition of the team further strengthens the 2026 GT Open grid, which continues to attract respected teams and manufacturers from across the global GT racing scene.
