Arrow McLaren driver Felix Rosenqvist is set for a new chapter in his IndyCar career as he has confirmed that his future plans will be announced in the next 2-6 days.
The 31-year-old Swedish driver is expected to sign for Meyer Shank Racing. If that is the case, he will join Tom Blomqvist at the team, and it will leave Simon Pagenaud without a drive as things stand.
Rosenqvist has a win, five podiums and four poles to his name so far since joining the series back in 2019. Unfortunately for the Swede, things haven’t quite gone his way at Arrow McLaren overall.
After finishing P5 in opening practice on Friday, Rosenqvist was speaking about his future when asked about it in a post-practice press conference.
“I think you’ll know soon. If you wait a little bit more, you’ll get your answer,” was Rosenqvist’s initial response.
When pushed on when we would exactly find out, he confirmed that it’s only a matter of days away.
“Between two and six. Between two and six.”
With Rosenqvist staying in IndyCar next year, it means four drivers with Swedish heritage will be on the grid: Felix Rosenqvist (Meyer Shank Racing*), Marcus Ericsson (Andretti Autosport), Linus Lundqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Tom Blomqvist (Meyer Shank Racing).
