Four-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen has found out his punishment following the use of a swear word in the official FIA Press Conference ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix back in September.

“He will undertake some work with junior competitors as part of the grassroots development programme organised by the Rwanda Automobile Club,” said the FIA in a statement released on Sunday evening CET.

Verstappen, who had a terrible weekend in Baku as he limped to P5 following difficulties with the car bouncing and was unable to get near teammate Sergio Pérez on pace, was asked about in the FIA pre-event Press Conference at Marina Bay.

The 27-year-old was direct as usual as he delivered a swear word to explain his difficulties over the Baku weekend and why he lacked pace compared to his teammate.

He also lost points to his main title rival Lando Norris, despite the fact the Brit got knocked out in Q1.

“Different set-up. So as soon as I went into qualifying, I knew the car was f***ed.”

The Red Bull driver ultimately sealed his fourth title in Las Vegas, winning nine races in 2024. He will collect the Drivers’ Championship trophy in Rwanda next week.
