Garage 59 has revealed the striking liveries that will adorn its two McLarens as it prepares for its maiden campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2026.
After a decade of consistent success across international GT competition, the British squad now advances to the pinnacle of endurance racing. It will compete in the fiercely contested LMGT3 category, where manufacturer support and elite driver line-ups define the competitive landscape.
Garage 59 takes over McLaren’s LMGT3 programme for 2026 WEC campaign
Garage 59 assumes operational control of two McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo entries previously run by United Autosports. The transition follows United Autosports’ move towards managing McLaren’s forthcoming Hypercar programme, which will join the championship in 2027.
Crucially, Garage 59 already understands the 720S platform. The team secured three victories with the car in GT World Challenge Europe last season, underlining both technical competence and race-winning pedigree. Therefore, it arrives in FIA WEC not as a novice operation, but as a proven contender stepping onto a broader stage.
Strong Line-Up anchors #10 entry; experience and youth combine in #58
In the #10 McLaren, reigning 2024-25 Asian Le Mans Series GT class champion Antares Au will share driving duties with rising British talent Thomas Fleming and McLaren factory driver Marvin Kirchhöfer.
Kirchhöfer brings continuity and experience as a long-standing Garage 59 driver, while Fleming impressed observers during last season’s FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain. Together with Au’s championship-winning credentials, the trio forms a balanced line-up that blends youth, factory expertise and endurance experience. As a result, the #10 crew possesses the ingredients required to challenge consistently in LMGT3.
Meanwhile, the sister #58 entry features Swedish veteran Alexander West alongside McLaren factory driver Benjamin Goethe and promising German racer Finn Gehrsitz.
Gehrsitz underlined his speed in 2025 by claiming pole positions in Belgium and Bahrain, in addition to a podium finish at Imola with Akkodis ASP Team. Consequently, he adds proven qualifying pace to a car that also benefits from West’s experience and Goethe’s factory backing. This blend of seasoned leadership and emerging talent gives Garage 59 two distinctly competitive packages as it embarks upon its debut season.
Imola to host revised season opener
Originally, the campaign was due to begin with the Qatar 1812km. However, following the official postponement of that event due to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the championship will now commence at the 6 Hours of Imola on 17–19 April.
The Italian round will therefore mark Garage 59’s first competitive appearance in FIA WEC machinery. It will also provide an early benchmark against established LMGT3 rivals on one of Europe’s most technical circuits.
Bold designs, bigger ambitions for Garage 59 in 2026 WEC campaign
Garage 59 has long earned recognition for its eye-catching colour schemes, and its 2026 FIA WEC challengers continue that tradition. However, while the visual identity attracts attention, the team’s objectives extend far beyond aesthetics.
With race-winning GT3 experience, factory-supported drivers and operational continuity with the 720S LMGT3 Evo, Garage 59 enters the FIA World Endurance Championship determined not merely to participate, but to compete at the front from the outset.
