Formula 1 is about to have its 18th Grand Prix of the season in the United States.
Red Bull has undoubtedly dominated the category this year, with two teams fighting for second place: Mercedes and Ferrari.
While the Brackley-based team are still in control, the former champion said his big goal is to win again. The 103-time F1 victor hasn’t won since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: “We’ll be back. We can do it. The next step to the top podium will come. And it will probably be the biggest triumph of my career.”
In a context in which the German team had not been able to shine, they finally achieved a pole position at the Hungarian GP, which lifted the spirits of its members, including the 37-year-old driver, as he said that these peaks help a lot in such difficult moments:
“Yes, it was a highlight. You try to be thankful for everything that successfully crosses your path when you’ve been through such tough times.”

Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen are considered by many to be the best drivers on the grid and are said to be “on a different level” to the rest, however, the British driver doesn’t feel the same way: “I would never say that. All the drivers who are here are doing a good job. But they all have different prerequisites, hopes and challenges. But I see a lot of parallels between the young drivers and young Lewis. That’s great. Fernando, Max and I are above all competitive and we go to the maximum to achieve our goals. I can’t say anything about their personalities, I’ve never sat in their living rooms.”
After the driver of car 44 on the grid suggested he will be back soon, here’s what he had to say about the W15: “I hope that all the data we’ve collected so far this year will feed through into the new car. That is the hope of the whole Mercedes team in all the factories. We must all always believe in our goals. And never give up.”
