Jaguar TCS Racing has solidified its commitment to Formula E, extending its participation until 2030 as the series advances into the GEN4 era.

This announcement places Jaguar alongside Nissan as the early adopters of the next-generation technology in the all-electric championship. The reveal came during a press conference attended by Pit Debrief, where significant advances in the cars’ efficiency, performance, and safety were highlighted.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem reflected on the growth of Formula E, stating, “The birth of Formula E was not easy. It was nearly impossible to bring this type of championship. Then came the growth and now with the sustainability which I believe is sustaining the business, not the environment. So I would say well done to everyone that was behind it.”

Jaguar’s pledge to the series coincides with their transition to a pure-electric brand by 2025, a transformation underscored by their recent 100th race milestone celebrated in Tokyo. James Barclay, Team Principal of Jaguar TCS Racing, expressed his pride in the team’s journey and its future direction.

“As a team, we recently celebrated our 100th race in Formula E and, with Jaguar being reimagined as a pure-electric brand from 2025, the timing couldn’t be better,” Barclay noted.

“Our commitment to the next, GEN4 era of Formula E is a clear demonstration of the JLR Board’s confidence in the value of competition at the highest level, our race to innovate ethos and, importantly, how this aligns perfectly with our wider Reimagine business strategy.”

The GEN4 cars, expected to debut in the 2026/27 season, will feature upgrades such as an increase in power output from 350 kW to 600 kW, approximately 805 bhp, marking a substantial leap in performance capabilities.

“We are thrilled that Jaguar TCS Racing is committing to the GEN4 era of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship,” said Dodds.

“Jaguar’s dedication to innovation and sustainability perfectly aligns with our mission to redefine the future of racing.”
