It was a very disappointing day for Lance Stroll who qualified for the Monaco Grand Prix in P14. This is in stark contrast to his team mate Fernando Alonso who set the Principality alight with his stunning qualifying effort to wrestle his Aston Martin to P2, narrowly missing out on Pole to the World Champion Max Verstappen.

After the session Stroll spoke how everything went wrong today in the middle segment of qualifying and the positives are very slim.

“Just everything went wrong really, I didn’t get the tyres prepared properly, I got called to the weigh bridge. A lot of things just went wrong. I missed turn 18 and lost half a second there.”

It was certainly a day to forget from Stroll and was downbeat on his performance including operational errors in missing the weigh bridge.

“Weigh bridge, traffic and just not ideal generally. Tricky day.”

Stroll realises that tomorrow is going to be tough to move through the field and is frustrated seeing the potential of his car and where he was earlier in qualifying. He also looked extremely strong in FP3 as he was the fastest non-Red Bull dr

“It’s going to be tough tomorrow. The potential was good, we were like third in Q1 and I was feeling good in the car. Then it just all went downhill.”

The Canadian is thinking about the strategy tomorrow. It’s a roll of the dice and he hoping the potential rain will create opportunities ahead.

“Its about going long or pitting early, one or the other. We’ll see. Hopefully a bit of rain will mix things up. We’ll see what we can do.”
