Fortec Motorsports has confirmed that Alexandros Kattoulas will return to the team in 2026 as he embarks on a full campaign in the GB3 Championship. Therefore, the Japanese/Greek racer rejoins the squad after building momentum across the past two seasons and now steps up for a complete year in one of Britain’s leading single-seater categories.
Kattoulas joins 2026 GB3 Championship with Fortec
Kattoulas first established his reputation in karting. He secured the 2015 ROK Cup Singapore/Asia Mini Rok title and finished runner-up in the Singapore Karting Championship, underlining his early potential. Then, he moved to Europe in 2016 and progressed into karting’s Junior ranks the following season. He then stepped away from competitive racing to complete his schooling and pursue a mathematics degree at university, placing his academic ambitions alongside his racing development.
Kattoulas returned to competitive action in 2024, where made his single-seater debut in GB3 with Fortec on the penultimate weekend of the season, gaining valuable experience in a highly competitive field.
He built on that foundation in 2025 by contesting the GB4 Championship, where he claimed one victory and secured five podium finishes, demonstrating consistency and composure. He finished fourth in the standings and strengthened his case for a full-time move back into GB3 machinery.
“I’m very excited to return to Fortec Motorsports for a full GB3 season. GB4 helped me build consistency and race-winning confidence, and the focus now is on putting everything together across the entire campaign. The calendar is incredibly strong, and my target is to be fighting consistently at the front from the start.”
He enters the 2026 season aiming to translate his recent progress into sustained front-running performances.
New era for GB3 in 2026
Kattoulas returns to Fortec as GB3 introduces further refinements to the Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car for 2026. The series will feature a new 2.4-litre engine and an updated aerodynamic package designed to enhance both performance and reliability.
These technical developments promise a fresh competitive challenge across a calendar renowned for its depth and quality. Oliver Dutton, Team Principal, expressed confidence in the returning driver’s trajectory. He said:
“Alex showed strong pace and maturity when he rejoined us, and his performances in GB4 demonstrated that he can win races and manage a championship campaign. Moving into GB3 full-time is the logical next step, and we’re looking forward to building on that progress and challenging at the front in 2026.”
Fortec now prepares to integrate Kattoulas into its 2026 programme as both team and driver set their sights on regular podium contention in the forthcoming GB3 season.
