Reigning Constructors’ Champions McLaren have unveiled the MCL39 livery at the 2025 F1 75 launch event in London.
Each day, we get closer to the start of the F1 season in March, and it is time for the teams to unveil the livery that will represent them across the next 24 races.
This year, the challenge is different, as the sport’s 75th anniversary in London serves as the backdrop for the car launch event, where all 10 teams will come together.
Current Constructors’ champions
Among the teams, McLaren are the current Constructors’ Champions. The papaya team enters the 2025 Formula 1 season with high expectations. The breakthrough of the 2024 campaign in which both drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, achieved their first-ever wins.
The MCL39, with plenty of changes compared to the MCL38, is expected to build on the success set during the 2024 season. The previous car helped the team secure the Constructors’ Championship after a 26-year wait. Now, McLaren aims to build on this success to remain one of the strongest teams on the grid.
A quick pair behind the wheel
The British team is one of two that retains its 2024 driver pairing. This duo is one of the safest bets for the future of motorsport. From Norris, who was the toughest rival to Verstappen during the championship last year, to Piastri, the young driver who, despite being a rookie just two seasons ago, finished 4th with 292 points, 8 podiums, and 2 victories under his belt.
Off-track, McLaren’s impact continues to grow, with their active fan base expanding each season. In their pursuit of not only improving but also dominating, 2025 will be key to their ambition of winning the championship for a second consecutive year.
McLaren is well-positioned to defend their Constructors’ title while further solidifying their status as a prominent force in Formula 1. The team’s aspirations are bolstered by the performances of Norris and Piastri, both on and off the circuit. The MCL39 will play a pivotal role in proving their staying power at the forefront of the competition. As the sport celebrates its 75th anniversary, McLaren’s commitment to innovation positions them strategically for future challenges.
