It is the second free practice session for round 2 of the F1 Academy Championship in the streets of Miami! We saw this session be dominated by Pulling. She was temporarily behind Pin after the French driver’s first lap after a battle with track limits, before overtaking her again for that top spot. The Alpine Academy driver was setting laps consistently in the 1:59s before ending her session on top with a 1:59.237.

Bustamante took the early lead, setting a 2:00.655, knocking an extra tenth and a half off that time in the following laps. Bustamante and Nobels secured 6th and 7th respectively for ART Grand Prix. Bustamante set a 1:59.790 with Nobels close behind her with a 1:59.792.

In the concluding ten minutes of the sessions, the order was seen to constantly change but Pulling remained on top. Pin’s efforts to retake 1st position looked promising following a purple Sector 1 however a Turn 14 snap of oversteer saw her lose two tenths on Pulling.

Pin was seen struggling with her car in this session. The Prema driver was experiencing a lot of oversteer with two big moments in the Turn 14 and 15 chicane. She was able to recover for an impressive 2nd place finish with a 1:59.437, but will be needing to review data on these issues before Qualifying. Another Prema driver cracked the top 8 also. Weug set a 1:59.725 worthy of 5th.

Campos Racing’s Marti and Chambers held onto their promising pace and brought it home in 3rd and 4th, with Marti setting a 1:59.634 and Chambers a 1:59.681, only 0.444s behind her teammate.
A.Al Qubaisi for MP Motorsport, setting a 2:00.043 and finishing in 8th. We saw many driving running wide in Turn 7, will this be a recurring issue in tomorrow’s upcoming Qualifying session?
