Red Bull has announced the conclusion of an internal investigation regarding a misconduct complaint against team principal Christian Horner. The complaint, initially lodged earlier this year by a Red Bull employee, has been thoroughly examined through the company’s grievance procedures, with the final appeal now dismissed.

The case first came to light in March 2024, when a Red Bull employee filed a misconduct complaint against Horner. Following the initial investigation, which was conducted by an independent King’s Counsel (KC), the complaint was dismissed. The complainant, exercising their right to appeal the decision, had the case reassessed by another external barrister.

In a statement issued on August 8, 2024, Red Bull GmbH confirmed the outcome: “Earlier this year a complaint raised against Christian Horner was investigated. That complaint was dealt with through the company’s grievance procedure by the appointment of an independent KC who dismissed the grievance.”

“The complainant exercised the right to appeal, and the appeal was carried out by another independent KC. All stages of the appeal process have now been concluded, with the final outcome that the appeal is not upheld. The KC’s conclusions have been accepted and adopted by Red Bull.”

With this decision, Red Bull considers the internal process concluded. The company has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the privacy of all its employees and upholding the highest workplace standards, stating that no further public comments on the matter will be made at this time.
