Scuderia Ferrari has revealed the SF-25 livery at the 2025 F1 Season Launch event, held at London’s O2 in celebration of the sport’s 75th anniversary, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc behind the wheel.
While the 2025 Ferrari F1 livery was revealed at the London event, the SF-25 will make its on-track debut at the Fiorano track tomorrow.
The Italian squad joined F1 in 1950 at the Italian Grand Prix held at Monza. Since then, the iconic red team has accumulated 16 Constructors’ and 15 Driver Championships.
Despite being the most successful team in sports history, Ferrari has not won a title since 2008.
Ferrari’s ups and downs in 2024
In 2024, Ferrari, with drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. at the helm, experienced ups and downs.
They scored five victories, with their best result being a 1-2 finish at the Australian and US GPs. Another high point was Charles Leclerc’s victory in his home GP in the historic streets of Monaco.
A failed upgrade package in Spain and rivals McLaren jumping ahead set the team back in the title fight. A double DNF in Canada and less stellar results mid-season also contributed to the setback.
However, Scuderia Ferrari didn’t give up. Upgrade packages in Monza and Austin helped the team get back on track. They scored three of their five victories during the season’s latter stages.
The resurgence in the later stages helped the Maranello-based team move the title decider to the last race in Abu Dhabi.
Although the team ultimately had to yield to McLaren, they gained significant momentum towards the end. Ferrari will be looking to carry this momentum into the upcoming season.
Expectations for 2025
Scuderia Ferrari will aim to bring the title back to Maranello with the highly anticipated addition of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc.
There is significant buzz around the team going into the new season. Especially with the Ferrari duo of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc being considered the most competitive pairing on the grid.
Ferrari’s title charge will start with the season opener at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne on March 14th, 2025.
