As is always the case at the end of a year, partnership/sponsorship changes occur in Formula One.

At Scuderia Ferrari, Spanish beer company Estrella Galicia has left the Italian giants following a spell of three seasons with the team after Carlos Sainz, a driver they’ve sponsored for many years, joined the Scuderia in 2021. They have moved back across to the Spaniard’s old team, McLaren.

Italian beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro will be joining Ferrari for 2024. They had previously been with Aston Martin. Pretty much a straight swap is incoming.

A bigger change for Aston Martin is the departure of Alpinestars. Since the team became known as Force India in 2008, the Italian brand has been supplying the Silverstone-based squad with racesuits and various other clothing items. Fernando Alonso had already been wearing a white racesuit with no sponsors on it during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.

The respected outlet Decalspotters has reported OMP could be the brand to join Aston to supply them with racesuits. They already work with Williams Racing.

At McLaren Racing, a long-time partnership is coming to an end. Since 1996, the Woking-based squad had their racesuits made by Sparco. During that period, Mika Häkkinen (x2) and Lewis Hamilton won Drivers’ Championships for the team. Alpinestars will be taking over from these year onwards.

A flurry of new sponsors are expected at Scuderia AlphaTauri/Racing Bulls, especially when the name change is confirmed. Quite a few former partners have already left following the conclusion of last year.

However, title sponsor PKN Orlen remains. The Polish company signed a multi-year deal ahead of the 2023 campaign after a period with Williams and Alfa Romeo when Robert Kubica was at those teams.
