Tristian Vautier returns to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES after an almost seven-year absence.
The 34-year-old French driver will pilot the #51 Dale Coyne Racing entry on the streets of Detroit this weekend. The 2012 Indy Lights (Indy NXT) champion was last in an IndyCar in June of 2017 at the Texas Motor Speedway, where he came 16th.
While Vautier may have been away from single-seaters, he has remained busy behind the wheel in recent years.
In 2023, Vautier competed in the European Le Mans Series in LMP2 Pro-Am for Algarve Pro Racing and finished 9th in points.
Vautier contested the 2022 IMSA season behind the wheel of the Cadillac DPi-V.R. for JDC-Miller Motorsports. He finished the season sixth in points and turned in an overall third-place performance at the Rolex 24.
Vautier is set to be a reserve driver for Chip Ganassi Racing at Le Mans next month.
