It’s time for the second leg of this weekend’s Shanghai double header, starting with FP3. Will Jaguar be once again the fastest team on track?

The dynamic duo is the first couple of cars out on track, with Cassidy setting the first benchmark in 1:15.77s. It’s improved shortly after by many drivers, including the DS Penske duo, which were among the first to post a time in the 1:14s.

After the first set of attempts fastest are the Envision duo, with Frijns ahead of Buemi by 0.120s. Maserati’s Gunther ran over a kerb but managed to keep his car on track.

At the halfway point in the session Muller holds the best time with a 1:14.038s, for a much quieter practise time with many drivers back to the pits for a small setup tweak.

Di Grassi has a kerb moment as well, whereas Mortara loses his rear at Turn 7 almost ending in the grass. Reigning champion Jake Dennis is the first to sign a lap in this session in the 1:13s.

With ten minutes to go Gunther is fastest with a 1;13.64s, followed by Hughes and Dennis. They are joined in their improvement by the DS Penske drivers and Ticktum , with latest race winner Mitch Evans slotting in P2.

Championship leader assidy goes on top with five minutes to go in 1:13.500s, with Porsche’s Da Costa improving his best effort as well up to P2. The latest improver of the day was ERT’s Ticktum ,who moved up to P2 in the final moments of the session in his team’s home round.
